Cerec Crowns and Veneers

We are proud to bring the revolutionary CEREC technology to Perth Dental Rooms.

CEREC technology represents a paradigm shift in modern dentistry. It has literally changed the way dentistry is practiced all over the world. This breakthrough technology offers a faster, more affordable, and far more precise way to restore and reconstruct damaged or missing teeth.

Whether you are getting crown work or an inlay/onlay done, or repairing a cracked tooth, a CEREC dentist has the ability to complete the treatment in one sitting – as compared to a traditional approach that would take several weeks and multiple dental appointments.

What is CEREC?

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic. CEREC allows dentists to computer generate teeth or parts of teeth that need to be replaced.

The computer-aided system combines 3D software, CAD/CAM technology and a milling machine to create natural-looking dental restorations with optimum speed and precision.

How does it work?

The CEREC dentist uses a 3D imaging camera to photograph and scan the mouth, thereby determining the exact dimensions and contour of the tooth being treated. This produces a high-resolution optical impression that would then be uploaded to a computer for further design tweaks and adjustments.

The dental professional uses proprietary design software to shape and refine the digital image to ensure the restoration sits comfortably in its precise location, and lines up perfectly with adjacent structures of the mouth.

After the design has been confirmed, the data is uploaded to a milling machine that forms the restoration out of a ceramic block (material). The final restoration may be fabricated in about 15-30 minutes and is ready to be installed as a crown, inlay, or veneer.

The restoration will be tested for proper fit and colour. The result is an amazing dental restoration that looks and feels like your own natural teeth.

Why should I choose a CEREC crown?

The Same-Day Crown is one of the most popular CEREC restorations out there. Here are some of the advantages it has over traditionally made ones.

Single appointment

In the past, installing a new crown requires a lengthy treatment time involving many steps. These include getting a temporary fitted; waiting a few weeks for a permanent crown to be fabricated at a dental lab; returning for a permanent crown fitting; final adjustments, etc.

With CEREC technology, the restoration is fabricated as you sit back in the dental chair. It takes one appointment – not multiple visits – to get a crown done.

Comfortable treatment

When you choose a same-day crown, you’re also choosing a comfortable procedural experience.

First of all, digital impressions are less invasive than taking traditional impressions. By eliminating multiple visits, the CEREC Crown process also reduces the number of local anaesthetic shots, which is great for needle-averse patients.

Best of all, you won’t need to wear a temporary crown for two weeks – which tends to be the biggest inconvenience of the traditional crowning process.

Natural aesthetics

The ceramic material has an uncanny ability to mimic the shade and translucency of natural tooth enamel, resulting in a more life-like appearance. The porcelain material also possesses similar reflective properties to natural teeth under different lighting conditions.

At Perth Dental Rooms, our same-day crowns offer superior aesthetics with exceptional durability, strength and stability.
